Who We Are

Quality Care Commission, Inc. is an organization made up of patients and their providers informing and educating citizens about their healthcare benefits. Too often, changes are made to healthcare policy or insurance without the input or knowledge of patients. This is wrong and we are working to fix it.

The convoluted healthcare industry can be intimidating, confusing, and frustrating. The goal of Quality Care Commission, Inc. is to help patients better understand their care, their options, and how to manage roadblocks that emerge. It is vital that patients have and maintain quality, affordable healthcare.

The Fight We Must Win

We respectfully urge the legislature to reject Part E of S.3007/ A.3007 of the HMH Article VII in the Governor's FY 2025-2026 Executive Budget. We ask the legislature to maintain the Medicaid managed care Independent Dispute Resolution (IDR) by once again rejecting the Governor's proposal to repeal this essential benefit of Medicaid managed care enrollees who would lose access to thousands of high-quality, highly specialized out-of-network providers.

This benefit has ensured that Medicaid managed care enrollees continue to get full access to healthcare providers of their choosing and are not forced to go from facility to facility after being stabilized post emergency medical conditions.

If the MMC IDR is repealed, many out-of- network providers would not be available to serve Medicaid managed care patients during a patient's most vulnerable medical episodes. New York's most vulnerable patients deserve high-quality healthcare. New York must continue to put patients first.
